Bonjour! my french friends, here’s a fun event for you character loving peeps! Pictoplasma is hosting a series of post digital monster exhibitions in Paris(la Gaîté Lyrique Museum) this month, Missing Link Research is one of the exhibition, showcasing a huge collection of Yeti, Sasquatch & Bigfoot, thanks to Pictoplasma, finding bigfoot couldn’t get any easier… you can find my BIG-FOOT in this exhibition! plus another character from me will appear in this museum(section unknown), this is for the preview of their upcoming new book, sequel of The Character Encyclopaedia, coming in 2012! :-)

i’m quietly working on a christmas release, a very limited edition of JB + print + secret custom toy package, aim to release next week, look out for confirmed date and time very soon! :-)

and tonight my mate King Kapisi(NZ hip hop legend) hosting an event of game competition + video release + magazine release!! i’ve designed the Lil’ Kaps tee for him awhile ago, and we might see that on the zine launching tonight!?

my Kamen Rider tribute art currently showing at JACCC(exhibition ends 13th Nov 2011), this limited edition art print is now available from my online store! Kamen Rider & Sushi Kaiju together fighting against the evil shockers to save the ocean! like my previous Sushi Kaiju print, i used the same ukiyo-e inspired technique on this one, artwork size 28.5 x 28.5cm (11.3 inches), print size 12 x 12 inches, signed and numbered edition of 30! get it HERE! KAMEN RIDER vs SUPER SENTAI Anniversaries Tribute Exhibition

i’ll participate in this huge group show to celebrate 40 years of Kamen Rider/35 year of Super Sentai, japanese most famous pop culture icons! opening on Nov 5, 2011, 7-10pm at Japanese American Cultural and Community Center, and the exhibition runs till 13th Nov. (closing party on 12th)

over 100 artists around the world re-interpreting either series in an exhibition of new and original art! includes some of my favorite artists: Amanda Visell, Bwana Spoons, DevilRobots, Itokin Park, Junko Mizuno, Luke Chueh, Touma, Yumiko Kayukawa….and more! from the sneak peeks i’ve seen, it’s gonna be a diverse art show, lots of fun & surprises!!

TRE Silent Auction

i did this sketch of PANDARA & Metal Spirit for Toysrevil‘s Silent Auction, a charity auction to benefit “Singapore National Stroke Association”, toy followers probably knew TRE founder Andy suffered from stroke months ago, now hes recovering & blogging harder than ever, hes contributing something back to the community, something to those who share the same or even worst plight than he did!

Art at Santos

hey, hi, hello! it’s time for another edition of THIS AND THAT update! its all about shows this week…. :-)

1. Lunartik Mini Tea Tour next stop at London! launching August 5th and exhibits thru August 28th, 2011 at Forbidden Planet’s Mega Store, featuring 70+ custom teas! all you brits should join the tea party, and please say hello to my Veganpire Mini-Tea, i miss him!

2. NZ Bird Show 2k11, first timer here, was skeptical at the door, felt like i was in bowls club, surrounded by grannies…. turns out i enjoy oldies activity, the show was an eye opener, so many new species for me!

my first prize goes to……. Gloster Fancy Canary!! (somehow it reminds me of Bobby Light?? hehe)

3. The Food Show!! sausages, soups, cakes, ice cream, curry, wines, fudges, cheese, candy, slush, rice, teas, chips and more sausages…. all down in 4 hours, surprised my tummy handle it alright! :P
…and this is what we got from the show! loads of samples and a full tummy! oh and bad memory of wasabi vodka, warned! x__x

p.s. i’m also working on new materials for a local show in september, and a kaiju show end of year….more updates very soon! enjoy your weekend ;-)

The Easel Project

the easel project started by sam & tiga, gathering nz artists to raise funds for christchurch(recently struck by a powerful 6.3 earthquake)!! each week, two artworks will go up on the easel project website or trademe for auction, 100% proceeds going to the christchurch relief effort!

my MW tee will be up for auction on friday 29th july 2011, i’ll be signing this tee(on the swing tag) along with extra postcard for the winner! be generous & help CHCH :-)

Lunartik’s Mini-Tea Tour 2011 kicks off next week! first stop at 43° gallery in berlin(part of the Pictoplasma Character Walk)! mini tea is probably one of my recent favorite designer toy, simple and stylish, even the packaging design is very thoughtful(you have to buy to find out)!! Matt selected over 70 artists world-wide to customize his mini version of lunartik tea toy, with many familiar names on board, Doktor A, Itokin Park, Jon Knox, Pete Fowler, Squink, Steve Talkowsi…. just named a few, for complete line up, please check out the flyer below, or Mini-Tea Tour website, Matt did a beautiful job on the site, with everyone’s profile, sneak peeks and everything you need to know about this tour! :)
