yay! finally got my hands on clutter 16!! to be honest, this is my first clutter magazine, sadly NZ magazine shops don’t carry them(and many other great art zines), they could have one less women’s weekly on shelf?

issue 16 covers all aspect of today’s designer toy, vinyl, 3d printing, japanese soft vinyl and i shared some resin toy process/tips in my interview! my thanks to the very talented nick for the interview and making my pages all pretty & colorful…hehe, clutter sure is one of the better designed zine! (so is their website)

New Year, New Card!

hello 2012 & happy new year! i’m glad you made it, and hoping this won’t be the last like mayan predicted! i personally don’t believe in that, plus i have so much planned ahead, my calender for 2013 do exist! let’s get this going….

first thing for me this year is a new business card, old card just ran out late last year, good time for a brand new start! so whats new? first time i’m including the word ART TOY & logo of HOLLOW THREAT on my card, obviously this is the new direction i’m focusing on! :-)

time to say good-bye to 2011, it has been a pretty good year for me, thanks to friends, blogs, publishers & you who has supported me through out the year! wishing you all have a happy/safe holiday! i’ll be taking a little break as well, when i say taking a break, i mean working hard on new projects thats not ready to blog about…. :P

This And That…Kamen Rider Edition!

i’m working on a new print for Kamen Rider(仮面ライダー) 40th anniversary tribute show, featuring my Sushi Kaiju and some bear friends, its gonna be full packed of actions!! >:)

cant say i grew up watching kamen rider, my parents thought its too violent for kids, they are afraid i might rider kick them?! so recently i refresh my memory by watching some V1 kamen rider, violence? not really, but some scene is spooky as, i can imagine kids having nightmare after the show haha, anyways, this is a kamen rider toy i kept for over 20 years, some wear and tears and lost parts…

and for those who have no clue what kamen rider is, watch this clip! (basically an insect looking super hero :P)

RWC is here, never been a big fan of rugby and i don’t know what i’m exciting about, the crowd? game? or the bad traffic?! but i got myself a ticket and going to the opening party tonight!! Go ABs! >:)

New Arrival Goodness

a little interrupt post today, if you are expecting sushi kaiju print, it’ll release on 1st September! it’s all ready and printed, only lacking the time to put it online…. almost there!!

now to the goodness arrived this week, first the sticker pack from Olla-Boku, a talented self taught artist from taiwan, this is her latest sticker package “Donuts” series?! by far my favorite series from her, one reason being i love good foods hehe, i’m starting to dig food inspired artworks! *drool*

Ganbare Nippon charity tee also arrived this week! thanks to Nick for this awesome tee! they look great on the shirt… now i wish i’ve ordered another for collection :-/

The Easel Project

the easel project started by sam & tiga, gathering nz artists to raise funds for christchurch(recently struck by a powerful 6.3 earthquake)!! each week, two artworks will go up on the easel project website or trademe for auction, 100% proceeds going to the christchurch relief effort!

my MW tee will be up for auction on friday 29th july 2011, i’ll be signing this tee(on the swing tag) along with extra postcard for the winner! be generous & help CHCH :-)

thank you whoever nominated me! around 2 years into toy making, it was my honor to be on the same list of artists that i admire, however i didn’t make it to final five this year :-/ …..for that “toy king” trophy designed by pete fowler, i’ll have to work extra hard next year!!! that got to be the rarest toy for any collector?! haha ;-)
