i was honored to be part of the Go Nagai tribute show, for those whose unfamiliar with the name, he’s the godfather of giant robots, such as Mazinger Z! it was my favorite robot since i was a kid, even till now, i drool whenever i saw a Mazinger toy!

it was a tiring day for us, i manage to get 3hr sleep while fighting jet lag, setting up booth from 8am, and our setup looks something like this(a standing PANDARA missing from the pic ><)

we signed 60 copies of chromacon books just before the doors open…

we didn’t expect such a great turn out, the crowd was absolutely amazing, met some new friends and some facebook friends/artists that i finally get to meet for the first time! thanks to everyone who drop by our booth & supported our artworks!

Chromacon 2013!

Chromacon is on this sunday(12 May) from 9am to 5pm, at Air New Zealand Foyer, Level 5, Aotea Centre, Auckland, and its FREE of entry! many of NZ’s top illustrators & comic artists will be at the event, so bring your family & friends to this one day only event!

Amy Lam and I will have some original artworks, prints, toys, picture books….and many more at our booth, we’ve also set up a fun little photo booth for you to interact with BEVIL & St. Wiener, drop by and say hi, we’ll be giving out free stickers on the day! :)

Amy Lam and I have made a last minute decision to join this year’s Chromacon(12 May @ Aotea Centre), that doesn’t mean we won’t put our best effort into this event, in fact, we’ve worked all day & night recently, until hours before we hop on the plane to Hong Kong! check out some of my work in progress below and see what you can expect from our booth at Chromacon!

Amy will have “Panki” picture book + her latest illustrated childrens book(with Joy Cowley) at the con! we’ll even bring some extra interactive fun to our booth! stay tuned for full details & see you at the con! :)

”Hanna-Barbarians” opens this friday at myplasticheart! curator Studio Miners put together a group show featuring the work of over 20 artists from all over the world, all artists creating pieces using elements from their favorite cartoons. this is a chance for these artists to showcase those cartoons that have influenced them throughout their careers, sometimes being critical elements in their development and interest in the arts…
